Kids Yoga

Little Lotuses Yoga (crawling-3 yrs)
This class introduces the basics of yoga to our tiniest yogis in a creative and active way. Circle time, storytelling, animal poses and parachute games are incorporated into the curriculum making the yoga practice fun and accessible. Breathing techniques, bubbles and relaxation help the little lotuses focus and find calm. Classes increase strength and improve coordination and balance. While yoga experience is not necessary, parents/caregivers are an integral part of this class and should come ready to participate.

Down Dog I (3-6 yrs)
Down Dog classes introduce children to the practice of yoga. Yoga poses and principles are explored in a variety of fun ways. Nature, basic anatomy, and imagination are all key aspects of the class. Children are encouraged to explore the way their bodies move through creative projects, collaboration, story time and songs. Chanting, breathing exercises and simple meditation practices relax and calm the mind. Each class finishes with relaxation - something the little yogis come to look forward to! No prior yoga experience required.

The Spanda of Healing: Yoga and Therapeutics
with certified Anusara Yoga teacher Julie Dohrman

The body naturally wants to be open and heal, yet often past injuries or chronic misalignments can hinder its process for free range of motion and expressive movement. In this 2 part series, Julie will lead you through the spanda ("pulsation") of healthy placement and action that provides the body with what it needs to heal, and open to its fullest potential. Each class will teach students how to practice through and with injuries in a therapeutic manner, allowing the body to shift its old patterns into healthy new ones.

A series in 2 parts, come for one or both! $45 each or $75 for both! Must sign up for both workshops at the same time to get the discount.

Saturday, Sept. 6th, 6-8pm
Part 1: Therapeutics of the Lower Body.
Addressing issues of the feet, ankles, knees, thighs, hips, and lower back.

Saturday, Sept. 20th, 6-8pm
Part 2: Therapeutics of the Upper Body.
Addressing issues of the hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, upper back, neck, and jaw.

PRIVATES

Private and semi-private classes are available.

Privates are a valuable addition to any yogi or yogini’s practice.

• New students can ask questions and explore yogic philosophy and asana practice in a non-intimidating environment.
• After injuries or a long break, privates can jump start your practice, and assist with rehabilitation.
• Experienced practitioners who have encountered a plateau in their practice or who wish to take their practice to the next level can benefit from detailed alignment instruction and constant assists.

Privates take place at home or at the Mala Yoga studio, or you can choose an in-class private, where one of our teachers will adjust you throughout class.

Semi-privates, for up to three students working at the same level, are a great way to channel the energy of a class, while getting the attention of a private. Semi-privates also provide the opportunity to focus on poses, or classes of poses, in a more workshop-like setting.

Please contact us to make an appointment and visit our pricing page for more details.
